Unlike in other countries where Au Pairs are required to do many household chores, Chinese families primarily expect Au Pairs to create an English-speaking or other language-speaking atmosphere for their children at home. They aim to find a foreign big sister or big brother for their own child so as to establish an internationalized friendship and expand the child's global perspective. Within the scope of working hours, it is preferable for Au Pairs to spend time communicating with the child using methods such as textbook learning, interactive games, physical activities, sightseeing trips and discussions; aiming at enhancing the child's English proficiency level whenever possible. In terms of household chores, Au Pairs only need to maintain personal hygiene and tidy up their own rooms while also assisting children in organizing study materials and other basic items. Cooking or cleaning public areas is not required generally.
"Taking a small step forward will open up a brand new world. Choosing to be an Au Pair in China provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your horizons and explore a more diverse world."
